PADI INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE (IDC)
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an 8 or 10-day class, depending on your choice of eLearning or traditional method, designed to prepare qualified candidates to become PADI Instructors.
Each segment can be scheduled as a stand-alone course or completed all at one time.
The IDC curriculum emphasis is focused on development, not tests or stress. This makes learning easier and more relaxed.

Entry Requirements:
- Proof of PADI Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and Divemaster certifications (or qualifying certification from another training organization).
- Certified Open Water Diver for at least 6 months
- First Aid and CPR training for Adult, Infant and Child within the last 24 months (PADI Emergency First Response certification recommended)
- PADI Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician and dated within the last 12 months
- Proof of at least 60 logged open water scuba dives
- Logged proof of deep, night & navigation diving

*PADI Exam Booklets are not sold to candidates before they earn certification at that level.
The IDC Crew-Pak is included with tuition when enrolled in Phase II. If taking the IDC as a stand-alone course, then the candidate is responsible for the purchase of the Crew-Pak. Prices are available on the Pro Dive Books and Materials Order Form.
NOTE: All IDC candidates are also required to have the current PADI Open Water Instructor Manual and current student materials from the PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Divemaster courses. These materials are not included in the Phase II cost.

Schedule & Dates:
At Pro Dive we offer two scheduling formats for you to become a PADI Scuba Instructor – Semester Scheduling and Career Scheduling. Semester Scheduling is conducted on nights and weekends, and our Career Scheduling is done in consecutive days.

Certification Awarded:
Upon successful completion of the IDC, candidates are allowed to go through the PADI Instructor Evaluation (IE). Once a candidate has passed the IE they will become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).
Note: Proof of 100 logged dives is required to take the PADI IE
Note: Candidates who are not PADI Divemasters are also required to pass the diver rescue skills assessment.

Our course cost includes classroom & pool sessions, all ocean boat dives and lake dives, tank/weight fees, PADI IDC Crew-Pack, IDC Instructor Examination Fee and PADI Instructor Examination Fee.
PADI will charge a $320 fee for you to register for the convenient online eLearning program. As an added benefit to you we will provide you with an in-store credit of $320 that can be used to purchase training materials needed for the course, not included with tuition, or anything else that you might need at Pro Dive!!
